Well its been a funny old spell of weather lately. But what with it being wet and then dry and hot etc. etc...........Theres me sitting in my (workshop) Shed. and i could hear the crackle of a fire. My mate next door is always burning something. Anyway my wife calls me and casually says Vince the shed is on fire. I thought she meant the one I was in? I rushed out and it was the other shed. Fookin hell it was blazing. It couldnt have been burning for more than a minute as thats when I heard the crackles. We was running around like headless chickens then I got the hose and fought it like a true hero. Lucky another minute or so and it would have been a total disaster. It seems like a combination of the heat and a rotten cardboard box.

recently down in selsey there was a fire, the kid next door had a fire in the back garden and he set alight 3 1910 thatch cottages(what a pr**k)

When I was in the mob there was a big hoohaa about camoflage netting being put away damp and stored in big piles in the back of the garages................apparently the dampness causes it to rot which generates heat and in some circumstances can lead to spontaneous combustion.

I think thats what must have happened. When i put it out with the hose it was burning underneath at the very bottom and I think this is where it started.
