Clicking noise from Air Con

From day one, I've had a plastic sounding clicking coming from my Air Con unit.

It only does it when its not set to 40. It doesn't matter what blower setting I select.

I take it this part is a whore of a price (like all parts), to replace

When I bought my Z, about eight months ago I found it had exactly the same clicking symptoms as you describe. I put up a post about it but no one had ever had the same problem or any idea what it could be. I tried to trace the noise and think it was coming from the air con control box. Winter came and with the heater on the problem went away. Now the warm weather is back so is the clicking noise, mine even clicks with the air con switched off. Since the air con has never worked I am going to get it sorted and hope that the noise goes away at the same time.

Sorry I can’t offer any advice but at least you are not alone with this strange problem.

If any one can recommend someone who knows the air con system on a Z please let me know.

That is exactly the same as mine. Air con off or not, clicking noise.

The Air Con appears to work, pretty damn good actually.

The noise is coming from the control unit, but I'm no further forward.

After all this time, I have discovered where this clicking is coming from.

Whilst out and about in the Z, I noticed the noise had began, since I have no dash, I got a good look.

Behind the top vents (above radio), there is a large vent openning. Inside this area, a plastic flap exists. This flap vibrates and causes the noise.

The flap feels slack, has anyone else felt their flaps?

(excuse the pun)

If you are sticking to them Jay, you are doing it wrong.
