Looks like I won't be going to any of the national events. I am unfortunately now on call for JAE, had planned on going to Billing which is now cancelled and I'll be in California in early September. Looks like I'll see you all next year.

I should bloody hope not! LOL, when I was in San Diego last August, it hadn't rained there since March! LOL

 

There's ZCon in Florida the week I'm there, can't be arsed to take an internal flight though. There's a few Z meets in LA when I'm there anyway.

A few of our members have been across to ZClub site and are asking why their Committee lied about who actually cancelled this event.

 

The ZClub Committee did not lie about any of this.

 

I can confirm that last Thursday my understanding was that the event was cancelled by Billing management. I was incorrect. I received the information from another 300ZX.co.uk committee member and not directly from a ZClub committee member.

 

It was simply a breakdown in communication between the two clubs and I take full responsibility for issuing 300ZX.co.uk members with incorrect information.

 

It was not until the Friday morning, following a conversation with Derek Zulley, that I understood exactly what happened, in terms of the chain of events and the decision process.

 

What I should have done, but didn't, was post on the 300ZX.co.uk board with the correct details. I can only apologise for not doing so. However, as I'm sure you can all appreciate, it has been rather hectic since last Friday.

 

We need to stop bickering and finger pointing and move forward. This decision cannot be reversed and we must all pull together to ensure the re-scheduled event will still be a big success.

I really don't see why some people are complaining when it's been cancelled, plain and simple.

It doesn't matter how or why it's just not happening LOL

 

As for why did we get involved with Z Club I thought it was the 30th Aniversary or something? and Billing was always a far nicer place to be than JAE, which people are free to go to anyway.

Or reschedule it for JAPS (August 19th) all you'd need to do is contact the organisers to arrange a proper pitch. There is LOADS of land at Thoresby Hall, so no problem with finding a space.

 

 

 

And on the point of JAE, no we DON'T have a pitch there, we are able to use ZClub's pitch instead!! (Or if you're in with them, Jap Girls instead ;) )

Have been to the VBOA rally at Billing this weekend, when we arrived there were several 'ponds' all over the place. Most displays and autojumble were moved and the show arena display was cancelled. The weather was lovely and warm both Sat and Sun so this had dried the ground greatly.

 

Shame its been cancelled but like has been said "what can you do?" Great idea to arrange another national event :)

TBH folks seeing as Billing has so much water around it, who ever decided to cancel given the latest weather and whats expected, probably made a good decision.

So best thing is if we move on from quickly in order to make other arrangements, plenty of peeps have altered things for that weekend in order to travel and lets not forget the many that have to travel to the UK just as a starting point!

It's been mentioned about a possible southside meet and Turboz has posted about going to the famous cat and fiddle pub for the north/west/midlands and anyone else who cares to travel there, personally i think it best we ALL look to attending the 2 possible venues as mentioned, or we'll all end up sat at home next weekend pissed of at missing an oppurtunity to have a couple of big meets ;)

JAE numbers are down from here and those who booked this weekend off did so in favour of billing, so use the oppurtunity :p

Steve, just 1 little thing, the stand or not at JAE seems confusing for some, can we can a 100% definate answer about 300zx club being there as a club or are we make our own arrangements and look for the Zclubs stand to intrude on ?

We DO have a stand at JAE. I have posted this on more than one occasion. We are SHARING the plot with the ZClub, so we won't be intruding at all, as it's half ours.

The decision to cancel was made last Thursday. At that time the main area we were to use was waterlogged and in a very poor state. The 10 day forecast (at that time) wasn't promising, with further rain forecast for this week.

 

The ZClub made the decision to cancel, in order to give members as much prior notice as possible. They had members from all across Europe making the trip across and needed to consider them also.

 

We had no alternative but to cancel along with the ZClub, as a lot of the organising and facilities were arranged jointly between the two clubs.

 

As already stated, we are liaising with the ZClub to find an alternative date and venue. ATM, it's looking like early September but will post up more information when we have confirmation.

on this whole subject firstly can i thank a couple of people on here for their kind offers SMITHY, for offering to collect me from airport and bring me to billing also to bring me some parts :bow: , COOPER SWB for a similar offer after the event was cancelled to bring me to the bike show :bow: , its those type of people that make this club a wonderful place.

thumbs up to STEVE300zx for keeping calm over what i am sure has been a difficult few days, admitting a mis-comunication, and answering querys and to VINIBOY for saying what a lot of us were thinking and taking the flak for doing so.

while i did consider goin over this weekend any way there is not much point as it would not be the annual event and would cost more money (of course no refund on the flight ryanair b.....) also jae is not an option,

which brings my next question approx when will we know the new date to see if myself and chewie can make it, i have just been checking ferry prices and at the moment aug is about 330euro, sept 230 but as time goes on they will increase
