What points to look for when buying a ZX

Sincere apologies if this is already a sticky/pinned topic but I could not see it anywhere. Briefly about me. My first car was a 90 Nissan Sunny 1.4 so I love jap crap. I currently own a ford mondeo, ford granada V6, Toyota Avensis and my pride and joy is a Nissan Pulsar GTI-R. I am thinking of flogging the Mondy and Granada and have been offered what I think is a steal but due to the cheap price I want some advice.

I have been offered a 90, red, Twin Turbo V6 MANUAL 300ZX. It has targa tops and is a UK spec so non import insurance which after the Pulsar will be a real bonus. He is selling cheap but I do know the guy reasonably well so trust him to a certain extent and do have some come back as I know where he lives and works.

My question is this. What should I look for, what is a common failure. I know for example with my Pulsar where it would rust, what to check on the fabled gearbox and other specifics that can go wrong. What should I look for on the ZX? Thanks for your help guys
