jesus christ I have had these cars befor my last one was tuned up to F**k and i drove it like a mad man but the fuel consumtion was nothing like this one!!

Theres some shops about a 3 minute walk away from me but coz i find ant excuse to go out in my zed as I havnt had it that long i went in it. I put 15 pound of fuel in the car yesterday went up to just over the first white line drove to the shop and back and its half way betwwen the empty mark and the first white line!!!!

 

There was half a tank in it when i got it it never went off the driveway, just by starting it up several times and shifting the cars about it used the petrol with a week.

What do I do,

now i know the exhurst is blowing (after the turbo) also Theres far to much lag with the car im thinking maybe a small boost leak but would this cause extreme fuel consumption??

Are you sure its not leaking? Underneath the car?

 

Might be worth doing the talc test in the engine bay and seeing if its leaking from inside. Sounds like a little more then over-fuelling.

Stick some talc over all the fuel pipes in the engine bay, start it up and let it run for a bit and see if any of it takes any moisture in.

 

Dont know about tapping noises as im not that tech minded but was told this was a good way to check for leaks allthough yours sounds a little heavier then just a pipe a bit loose :(

sure your fuel gauge isnt at fault???, mines not particularly accurate. also can you actually smell fuel, if its leaking chances are you will smell it. have you checked the 02 sensors are fucntioning as they should??

and £15 would never scratch the surface on my gauge would need £30 to get a genuine half tank, see it move when right foot planted

If you genuinely believe that your consumption is that much worse than your old one, then get ConZult hooked up to it and see what your sensors are all doing. Could be your 02 or CTS are reading out of range.....this is in addition to the above checks.

 

You'd probably have smelt an odoury cabin by now if your had fuel leaks.

no smell of fuel leaks I know the old fuel pipes are prone to drying out and cracking my last one went like that.

Its just that the cars doesnt feel like my old one even b4 I had work done to my last one it seemed more responsive from the stop point.?

 

You know when there's something quite not right with your car but you cant put your finger on it??

probably the best thing you can do as already said is run conzult to see whats going on, a bigger turbo generally will cause more lag than stock, but if everything is set up correctly then it should be that much of a problem. Unless its an oversized turbo for the car then no matter what you do the lag will be there. I think most people recommend a .64 ar impellor as to keep spool up time acceptable. Not to sure if the blow in the exhaust would have an adverse effect on the boost, theres only one way to find out i suppose, fix the blow and see if its any different. Are you running a boost controller???? could be that is not functioning properly causing erratic boost condition. tbh i think run the conzult and go from there.
