Urgent Advise Aiv Hose

When the AIV lines are disconnected from the exZhaust is it important to bung the lines up? What would happen if they were just left open? Appreciate any advice on this as my mechanic is only waiting on this and then I can finally get my Z back! Cheers

    Just leave them open Bud.Mine has been running like that for years.
