OK I hope this isnt the wrong section to post this but I didnt want to keep it to one area. I also hope any REO dosent mind me doing this.....

I have had a chat with Spongey and we thought we could possibly arrange a day outing for anyone interested in or around hearts beds or bucks. Just Sunday really as an alternative for those that like me have booked the weekend off for Billing. (although I have an hospital appointment on saturday). I must say at this point "Thanks to Steve" for the polite and concise notice of the cancellation of Billing. Its such a shame as it was looking like it was going to be great.

Anyway if anyone has any local ideas for a days meet on Sunday 15th July then please post them up here. Obviously it would be nice to gauge some interest on this idea and see if it would be worth organising?

I thought that Grafham waters would make a fairly decent place. It has two very large car parks both hosting a cafeteria and both have nice nature walks and splendid views of the waters. It might prove a bit boring but its open space so you can have a fag and a coffee with some grub and it will give us time to chat and take a closer look at each others cars. rather than just turn up have a pint and fook off. :D

Please feel free to suggest something.

Vini

ill be up for camping!! never thought id hear myself saying that lol.

Whatever the situation i think we need clarification on the matter, unless we all just turn up for the laugh anyway, even if its not official,if the site is still open it might be good more so for those who have arranged long travel arrangements!!

maybe not but its not like any one could have foreseen this happening, is there not soemthing we can do to compensate in some way, they can still come over meet up wioth guys and have a good time.

I wasnt bein g stroppy, its just the rain and flooding has affected a lot of people around where i live and unfortunately apart from pray to the big guy to resolve it, there is little that can be don e!

Saz. Like Pete said I wasnt getting at you. I have also been on the phone to Billing as I live quite local and TBH we unlike youselves have been fortunate enough not to have the rain as bad. I have mate who live in Donny and Barnsley as you may remember and they have been hit hard too. My point is that Billing did not cancel and they said to me that it was never going to be cancelled by them.

I asked them if the event had been cancelled because of a water logged site and the girl said NO! I then asked if there was a warning and she said NO!. I went on to ask her why it had been cancelled and she said she had no idea.

So thats why I am annoyed Saz. Sorry if you thought I was having a go at you I wasnt. :D

Further more I have been on the Z Club site and TBH am not happy. It was basically decided because a friend of someone saw that it was bogged whilst walking he's dog and the Z Club decided that it wouldnt be worth taking a chance. I am not out of pocket like some are but I have taken a weekend off from work and that is something I can not do very often so in effect has ruined both this weekend and the next for JAE.

bloody dog!!! lol

well can 300zx.co.uk still not have a weekend there? we surely can do this on our own and have a good laugh??

im still gona go along to billing as its only down the road the 300.co.uk club should still go i went past there today and it looked nice and dry

Hi,

Looking at the Billing website, the Z Club/300ZX meeting was the only car rally booked for this weekend. So you can understand their reluctance to put us off going!

The following weekend is the Land Rover National meeting...so the ground will be chewed up after they've been there!;)

Jez.

Sarah, some of us know you are from an area that was badly hit and we all feel sorry for those affected.

However the point being made in this thread is that maybe the decision to cancel was flawed or at the very least premature.

It appears that the decision was made by a few people on the Zclub committee. The site owners of Billing DID NOT CANCEL the event.

I have just enquired this morning to the office at Billing to ask if I could come and camp this weekend and was told it would be OK but busy due to car club events!!. LOL

so maybe we could have a " Bootleg Billing" event ourselves???????? on Sunday??

Premature and flawed

But they have now cancelled the Toyota car show for this weekend due to the ground being unfit to be used WITH ONLY 4 DAYS TO GO

(Information from the Datsun owners site)

False news is worse than bad news??? :D

I think this thread has got a bit off track. I was lead to believe the descision was a bad one but was prooved wrong and AS Mike said it was the right one. Like I said in the first place. Lets do something else?

So maybe now people know this thread has turned out as just another pop at the organisers of Billing it will get no reponse from any one?

I am going to start another thread to see if there is anyone else who wants to meet at grafham this Sunday?

Sorry Steve. and anyone else who wishes to go. maybe I could meett you there later?

Its been one Fook up after another this week. :D

Can you explain in more detail why you took this flawed and premature decision to cancel Grafham solely on the word of your boss?

I think the forum should call your boss to confirm this
