July 5, 200718 yr just a quick one.... are there kits out there for the third link kingpin? if so, would these kits sort out excessive play in the steering knuckle or would that be a lower ball joint issue? cheers Mark
July 5, 200718 yr can you see movement at the third link arm and king pin housing or lower king pin housing on the steering knuckle and hear a grinding noise when you turn the knuckle? If you can its proberbly the King pin bearing, which can be replaced. If no movement at the King pin housing then it could be the wheel bearing if everything is solid but you still have excessive play when you wobble the wheel
July 5, 200718 yr is the movement at the upper end of the third link arm where it connects to the the upper link arm or at the bottom of the third link arm where it connects to the steering knuckle?
July 5, 200718 yr Author its moving at the steering knuckle where the kingpin is, the upper links are fine. thats all been changed
July 5, 200718 yr its more than likely the bearings that have gone then they can be replaced by taking the third link arm off as they are pressed into that, the king pin is usually ok but can be checked when you take the link arm off as it will expose it. The king pin can be taken out and changed by undoing the bottom nut if you want to change it, or just get a good second hand link arm with good bearings in
