Im intending to change my outo geer box oil this weekend. I've done a forum search so i think i'm there with it.

Where can i get a 300zx haynes manual??

i believe i drain the oil out and clean the filter (where is this please??)

Then how long do i run it so that i can drain it again to remove all the old oil before topping it up with fresh???

Is the oil drain on the sump of the geer box??

And finaly (most importantly) what oil??

Sorry if i seem a bit dim. I'll be more clued up on it as i work on the car more..

as far as i know there isnt a haynes manual for the 300zx z32. you'll have to get a manufacturers service repair manual, and they are not cheap. there is an online manual you can look at. Drain is on the box ist self. warm the car up first and get the front up in the air. u will need to use a dexron III type fluid i think. And there is quite alot of it an all. around 8 litres in total but your never get that out. As far as refiling is concerned think you have to refill through the dipstick guide which will be time consuming. not sure if you can use some sort of pump to get it in through the sump drain. Once got some in fire the car up and get it warm shouldnt take long then take the reading on the hot part of the dipstick, refill as necessary, then you'll have to keep checking it when its cold, first thing in the morning, check it then as well and top up as required.

Ok thanks, Will take a look at oil in the traders section. does warming the geer box oil mean driving the car or sat at idle??

id take it for a quick spin, not out for a thrash. then let it idle for 5 mins. switch her off then get her up on the stands.

oh if you meant when checking the level whilst refilling, leave her on idle dont take her of the stands and drive round, to warm up.

Do i really need a new gasget for the oil pan on the gear box then??

Given that your car is on a K-plate and hazarding a guess that the autobox oil has never been changed I would say "YES", you need a new gasket. Gaskets deteriorate over time and it is always worth replacing them.

I will be doing a fluid change fairly soon as well and I'm going to replace both the gasket and strainer. Peace of mind and all that ...
