i get a couple of drips of oil a night from the bacK of the engine but im getting the dreaded oily smell and smoKe from the exhaust, could this be oil from the cranK seal?

 

anyone Know how much to get sorted?

Where is the smoke coming from? The engine bay or the rear tailpipe?

When the rear crank seal goes it drips oil out of the bell housing on the gearbox, It wouldn't come from the exhaust. There are a few things that can cause smoke so don't remortgage yet :) Pcv valves in particular.

just spoKe to jamie at zed world, he said the exact same thing, he said the rear seal could NOT cause smoKe from zorst. i need it doing before 23rd july, they cant fit me in, is it dooooaable for a dumplin?

im gonna teK the battery off and have a looK at the pass side in a min.

How much for the stuff?

Have you De-catted recently?

Just to cheer you up rear crank seal can contaminate the clutch plate if left too long.

been out in it, 30 min, down motorway and a couple of 60 roads, idling a bit, trundle home, cant get it to smoKe!! no smoKe on boost either. tooK it out last night, big blast, smoKe on idling....can pcv valves cause intermittent somKing?

just do them, they are about a fiver each and take 30mins each at a slow pace. :)

 

its not worth not doing them. IMO do all the hoeses too, total is about £50 and will take a fair couple of hours, but none of it is tricky, everything is accessable.

What that man said. Its hard work getting to them but isn't compicated. The main problem is from cooked hoses. Its almost definate your pcv valve hoses will not be re-usable so buy new ones now. If you are only intermitently smoking on idle and not on boost (when putting the loud pedal to the floor) then pcv valves are the first call.

hahahahah, my K Key is Kream KraKKered, it only worKs when i hold shift down.
