what could cause a lack of lowdown torque, if im in fifth gear doing about 35-40 it sounds like it's going to stall, it really has no torque when in any other gear either, like in traffic in second, it really doesnt wwant to start picking up till around 3500 4000, sometime's i have to put it into first gear to get it going again, sometimes it runs great with loads of low down torque and sometimes it runs like shite and even backfires once you have it going and release off the throttle

prob running on choke, temp sensor reading?

temp sender seems to be fine, there is a pipe on the back of the plenum balance bar (left side as you look into the engine) it goes onto a type of lttle what loks like some type of relay, anyway it was coming off so i removed it, the engine immediately started running beter, tok it for a quick drive and it went like a dream, there seems to be a littlew oil in it
