Opened my credit card bill this morning and got a bit of a shock - the balance was over 7k more than I was expecting!!

Turns out that some b*stard has done a £7k balance transfer onto my credit card from another card. Then, to follow that, there's another £3200 balance transfer a few days later from a different card that wouldn't have shown up until next month!

The CC company even stopped the card after the first attempted transfer, but before the automated system called me to check, someone called them early in the morning, managed to pass through whatever checks they did and had the block lifted. :mac1:

The upside is that I'm not liable for the money - over £10.5k in all, including charges - but it's a bit inconvenient...

Hopefully they catch the b*stard(s) and subject him to the full force of British justice (what there is left of it these days :headvswal ).

at least your not liable that good news mate

True, it could have been a lot worse! :duffer:

....makes my piss boil ........ its usualy a well organised gang and according to my father in law who until his retirment 5 years ago was CID serious crime squad ( fraud )

the majority of gangs were Nigerian imigrants .............KICK THEM OUT ...thats justice for you

Credit card companies often just absorb losses like this.

They make so much off people who overspend and pay huge amounts of interest, it's nothing to them.

Pisses me off when i hear storys like this, once again a member of the British public is a victim of crime from the dodgy conning bast@rd imigrants, who are SOOO gratefull for our hospitality. Thanks a lot Blair, but your not the victims are you :xxx: 's Worst thing is they know this crime happends but are to shit scared to do anything about it or stop anymore coming in incase the rest of the world think we are bad, well fook what the rest of the world think of us, they already think we are mugs and a soft touch, which we are.

Should think he'll get a right good old telling off and made to sit in the naughty corner for at LEAST five min.

porblem is its such a common occurence i shouldnt imagine they will even make much of an attempt to nail the culprits

They'll get hit over the head with a balloon and told not to do it again.
