With all the rain we been having lately Ive noticed the zx is a bit of a handfull, now I expected 300 bhp to the rear wheels to raise the pulse when pressing the loud pedal :xxx: , but I find the rear breaks away when not accelerating just cornering. The rear tends to drift when the fronts planted and no acceleration, is this the norm? Not sure if the HICAS is working properly although no warning lights, dare say rear tyres although very new are a very cheap make. Is there anything else I should be checking out?

buy decent tyres i went from some old hard dunlops to falken fk451's and the rear end sits tight now unless i want to play of course lol.

tyres is your main priority!

the best tire in the wet ive ever owned has got to be the toyo proxys t1r  got 4 new on the car and there just awsome

Agreed i put T1R's on mine after getting sponsorship from Toyo years ago on another car and loving them. Toyo did well with me, give me 1 free set and its all i'll trust now as i know how the tyre behaves wet and dry !

I do have to say though, the local Tescos in Southend does have a dodgy roundabout on the A127 where all the lorries like to dump their diesel so thats fun no matter what car you are in.... but the 300..... sideways every time lol

you can put the best tyres on in the world( ive got conti) and the zed is still sh**e in the wet, the only cure is.............racelogic traction control ur zed will never feel as safe in any condition

yep i can vouch for traction anyday, got it on mine its just awsome, can floor it in the wet out of a junction or off a roundabout & it wont loose grip, tyres are still a main factor had my share of poor tyres in the rain i seem to like bridgestone pole position.

sorry but syko i disagree bud, i hate traction control with a passion. with no hicas and falken fk452's i can corner the same as in the dry in mine with no slippage at all they just grip grip and grip..

and you cant drift with traction control.. ;)

but thats all just my humble opinion of course.. :P

and traction control only helps when applying power, if it just steps out in the wet without assistance from the loud pedal then you definately need better tyres

Accelera tyres on the rear, Ive never heard of these and suspect they may be the problem. Think I need to tear the tread of them sharpish and get something decent on the back, may be a track day :D would do the trick. In order to explore worn hicas bushes and arms is this a diy job or do I need to get it to a specialist if so any ideas, Im in Noth Yorkshire.

I used to run on F1s. They were great in the wet, never had any problems. The odd bit of lift-off oversteer sometimes, but nothing to worry about. If your back end is all over the place I'd suggest your tyres are the most likely culprits. Get some decent ones. If you were driving some little runaround with a 1 litre engine it wouldn't matter so much, but with this car you need something that can put the power on the road in a controlled manner, especially in the wet.

Yep sounds like cheap tyres to me to... Lisaf had a brand new set of fullruns on the rears and they would just lose grip on corners with no throttle, go and play on them and buy some brand ones.
