Well finally got them fitted, but i've come to the conclusion the garage may need to take them off and refit them because.....

the bottom twists which alters the height, this isn't where you are meant to alter the height but on the spring adjustment.

So how do you know what height the bottom twisty bit is meant to be?

And how are you meant to get them all the shocks exactly the same height?

Oh and the stiffness on the rears this is adjustable by the top of the shock so am i correct in saying if i want to alter this all the boot interior has to come out to get access to the top of the shock?

Hi jaffa i have the G Force coilovers fitted on mine with the same type of rear adjustment (i think),

Do you have a long allen key with a knob on the top which pulls out?

If so this is what i did.

1.Remove all the inner trim to get to it.

2.Pull out the allen key and undo the grub screw which holds the knob.

3.Get another allen key the same size and cut it into 2x3in peices

4.Get the 3in peices welded to the original allen keys.

5.Drill the trim (this is the hard part)

6.And put it all back together.

Now the allen key sticks through the trim so you just attach the knob.

It took me 3 attempts to finaly get the right hole so i had some black round stickers made with Hard and Soft which covers any errors.

Mind you i was fitting a Carbing strut brace at the time which was a real pain in the ar5e.

Hope this helps

Steve.

That's a good idea, do you leave it in all the time or only when you need to use it?

Also how did you get on fitting them as the bottom twisted and i had no idea what height to set that to then getting the other side the same omg no hope. I'll let the garage check it but i'm just curious as it's random.

You turn it to the ride hight you want then lock it up with the C spanners.

I get ya, so the bottom bit is for the initial setup major adjustment then you can adjust the height via the spring for minor adjustment.

Im not sure mate its been 9 months now and its still a long way off.

Because i work abroad all the time i dont get much time to drive it, so when i get home its how i enjoy myself.Needless to say im pretty pi55ed off at the moment as i have 4 weeks holiday starting on Saturday with nothing to do and all the shows starting.

Steve.

If there the same system as tein flex you set the spring preload and leave it 5-10mm and lock up ,then adjust the ride height by spining the lower shock mount up or down the strut.

So that needs to be done before fitting to the car, it's sitting pretty high at the mo as i set it to the same size as the stock shock which the spring compresses more on. That's a good thing for now anyway becuase it needs to go on a trailor again soon.
