Hi,

Petrol stations tend to be few and far between in France. The local brand tends to be Elf!You can drive for miles without seeing a petrol station!

Most people seem to buy their fuel at the Intermarche type Supermarket, where you can get unleaded 95 or super unleaded 98 octane.

A lot of petrol stations close at the weekends, so don't get caught short of fuel!

Jez.

WHY shell petrol stations ????

..

Must be looking for V power/Optimax?

The super unleaded is usually 98 octane over there anyway.

Jez.

So why not use a octane booster....in germany you have 100 octane....and to be fair V power is not the same here, as it is in Europe ..!!!!!

...

whats an octane booster? some sort of cocKtail you lob into the petrol? dint Know you could do that, nice one. So Germany has higher octane?

Yup, of most of the petrol station over there, there always seems to be super unleaded available. More availability per station than there is in the UK which is odd since 85% of French cars are oil burners, the remainder of that, only a very very small proportion actually need/benefit from super.

theyl be arguing about petrol for days now.

on the ferry, make sure you stay on the lower deck. some of teh ramps getting on ore a bit steep, but the upper deck ramp will tag your bumper. teh flooring is cheezgrater steel. if it catches your bumper it will dammage it.

and watch out for stupid fooking drivers we have overe here on the continent

That'll be these then........

To be fair, when I take my Z abroad, the crew are pretty good and locate it on one of the lower decks without me even asking. They'll even crouch down and watch that I don't ground out.

Can't remember who I was with now. LD Ferries and also Brittany Ferries I've taken the Z with.

can i request to go on the lower decK? and should i get there earlier to maKe sure i can do that.

any idea what happens if i can only get on the upper decK (apart from my bumper gets ripped off!!)

As simon says they are used to low sports cars and are very helpful checking you dont ground it.
