OH NO ! :( dead zed ???

Recommended Posts

:( Got my zed stranded on a flooded road last night. spluttered popped and cut out in about a foot of water. :headvswal

I have a mushroom air filter fitted and think it's probably pulled water into the engine. Managed to get towed out and parked it up to dry. all electrics seem fine but engine wont turn...

I think engine may have seized but what do you guy think? any ideas?

any idea how much I would be looking at for a replacement engine?

anyone want the car for spares or repair? It's a '91 Jap spec TT auto

Time to get an old banger as a daily runner. Something like a MK3 Astra will run fully submerged with little issue to its knife and fork engine!

Fukkkk knows why I bought a French car as a daily driver, they're even worse. You always see, when it floods, the roads littered with french cars due to their crappy intake design.

PS., the best car I ever had for abusing/flood driving was also the worst car I've ever owned. MK3 Golf which I absolutely loathed. I tried to kill, but it would never die! Only paid £100.

I even drove it through a river....and the fukker carried on running!!

My old heap of a Vauxhall "Ashtray" Estate wasn't happy in the floods, the fanbelt started slipping every time it got wet and the alternator light came on which is quite worrying in the middle of a flood LOL

Would never take my Z near a deep puddle, never mind a flood!

Those phots are quality Si! My missus did the same thing with her Astra a few years back. We thought it was a ford and she drove straight in lol! it started floating and filled up with water. Bless her, she towed it home and took the engine apart. She turned it by hand with the plugs out and it spurt water way up into the sky! then dryed the sparkplugs etc on the wood burner :) Unbelievable it started working again!
