No.

Pull the plug off the bulb.

Remove the plastic ring and the rubber 'boot'.

Then grab the metal clip 'legs' and squeeze together to unhook the clip and free the bulb.

It can be fiddly and the ability to stand on your head helps.

they can be done from the back of the headlight

As stated above - no need to remove the headlight (although it makes things 100% easier ;))

Due to the limited access space behind the headlight you'll need to be patient in trying to remove the bulbs.

For dip beam (ie, the round projector light): Disconnect the bulb connectors // remove the rubber dust seal by twisting the plastic cap that surrounds it and then pulling the rubber cap off // release the spring clip holding the bulb in place // replace bulb (UK-spec = H3/Jap-spec = H3C) and reassemble in reverse order.

For main beam (ie, rectangular reflector light): Disconnect the bulb holder at the back by squeezing together the two tabs (this will take some patience to do as it is very fiddly) // remove the H1 bulb and replace // reassemble in reverse order.

HTH

Good luck!

i did my dipped without having to take the lights out, however it is a fiddly job. you must make sure you get them seated right before you try to pull the metal clip back over. and dont force it otherwise it will probably break. and then your in the sh*t. i know because i did it. still need to get one of those bleedin clips but think they might be intgral to the light fitting, not sure. dont now about the main beamhavent had to do those before. someone on here will have an easy option i'm sure.

It helps if you have a child, or someone with dainty hands......but saying that, after me an a friend spent 30 mins changing bulbs you learn and now it isn't a problem at all.

I now can't figure out why I had soo much bother in the first place.

Having the Japanese H3C bulbs in my import has definatly made the job 100 times easier than the stupid UK H3 bulbs....always found that daft wire kept getting caught in the way of the clip that holds the buld down....

christ that is fiddly passanger side isnt that bad but drivers side!!!!!! is there nothing easy on these bast**ds???? changed a hicas track rod arm ball joint this morning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! never known anything like it and have to do the other tommorow hopefully having done one will make it so much easier the second time round.

its def tight on that drivers side, i broke the clip in the process of doing mine so now and then that light needs a slap as the bulb is a bit loose. if anyone has any ideas on whether i can get a new clip or not....

Once you have done it the first time then you will wonder why it was so difficult before.
