Gear Selection

Hiya

I can't get any gears on my manual box, when I do force it in they won't disengage properly, something to do the the clutch slave/master cylinder?? I can't get into my garage until Wednesday next week, so I won't be driving it again. Any sugesstions on what it might be and how major it will be to fix.

Regards

JOHN

Will they go in and out when the engine is not running (without using the clutch) ?

If that is the case then it sounds a bit clutch like to me. Did it happen suddenly of has it been going off for a while. try checking the fluid level and maybe bleeding the clutch.

They will go in and out when the engines off but using the clutch. The have been stiff for a whiloe then yesterday stopped working, it's ok when running from cold but as soon as the car heats up they stop. Topped up the fluid yesterday, still no change.

When you say you topped up the fluid I assume you mean Clutch cylinder and not gearbox oil.

I would check the gearbox oil, sounds like you have run out, as the gears get hot they expand and make it very difficult to engage and disengage the gears.

Yeah topped up the clucth fluid, will get them to check the gearbox oil too.
