I thinking of putting in an aftermarket boost gauge.

Any recommendations?

They look fairly easy to install by splicing into the feed to the stock sensor under the hood. Is this the best method?

Comments appreciated.

Glenn,

Yes it is worth doing the Stock Guauge is shite , obviously so if you higher the boost.

A Pillar guages are popular, so are ones on Turbo timers, which is recommended on the Z IMHO. HKS and Blitz do very nice ones with a Turbo timer.

A pillar ones , Greddy are reasonably prices but Autometers are the kings of the low price range. Bare in mind you will also need a guage pod 60mm is the easiest size to locate.

Give Johnny a shout, at GPS, he can hook ya up with a good price.

Glenn,

You have two choices, being mechanical or electronic.

The mechanical basically connects via a nylon pipe to the balance tube to register boost pressure and the electronic one uses it's own pressure sensor which also connects to the balance tube to read pressure.

I have the autometer type with Apexi gauge pillar mounted pod from GPS.

It works perfectly well and is backlit for night driving.
