was just driving home from work and gear lever became all sloppy. it seems to have dropped. i can find all gears by lifting lever up before i change. once in gear it is fine. i would have thought it would be a gear linkage/bushes? how do i fix it?

remove centre section, remove rubber gator boots

 

the rubber support mount has broke, this is the only cause for the linkage to drop! You can make up a larger penny washer and re support the nut so it holds the linkage at the correct height(quick fix)

 

worth changing the bushings whilst your there there around £6 for both

new one from nissan is about £40
