Experiences with Carbon Fibre?

Is real carbon fibre easy to use or purely a cunt?

Is the fake stuff just as good?

Real stuff is a little like using glass fibre matting except that it is woven carbon fibre that replaces the matting. You still need moulds to get a good finish on the finish side. The backside stays roughish.

If you are thinking for trim and the like then real stuff is pointless and way overkill. Probably not possible to do cheaply. You can buy fake lookalike stuff at Motorworld in Falkirk. Think its about a tenner for a small sheet. They also do brushed aluminium for dashboards etc.

Thoughts are to replace tweed sections with Carbon fibre effect, with brushed aluminium trim or vice-versa.

It's an experiment, so I'll see how it goes!
