Ive only ever had kidneys in steak and kidney pies and stuff like that and they taste really nice.

 

The other day i had a mixed grill which came with 2 kidneys, they looked pretty wierd as they were whole but i had a nibble and they were ok.

 

Then for some stupid reason i decided to give them a sniff, omg, im never eating them again, they smell horrible, like a urinal. I know that the kidney does something with the wee in your body, but surely its not meant to smell like that when there cooked? Has anyone else noticed this?

 

Also what animal does the kidney come from?

Lamb Beef or Pig depends what you bought,but yes they all stink of urine as thats what passes through them

bulls bits, there mostly thrown, Tongues, beef and pork kept, Lambs only to order. er that will be troter's :x: liver kidney's kept from all animals, guts again kept from all animals for sausage's etc. Bums only pigs for chiterlin's speical order. and the parsons nose.

Liver and tripe smell far worse. Gut wrenching. Quite why anyone would want to eat that is beyond me.
