You may have a Boost leak somewhere

are all the pipes accessable without removing the engine

the pipes at the top look ok

They may look ok but its how they cope under pressure.

is their any tell tale signs if its an acutal turbo or a boost leak

i am defo not loosing any power, when on the motorway doing high speeds i hear the whine alot louder and their a sort of spluttering noise

First of all carry out a boost leak check then go from there!

People sell them on here occasionally

well im gonna make one and get it tested on monday, if its a boost leak, i gather i will hear the air coming out of a pipe?

 

ive been reading alot of posts and i am undecided whether its a leak or a knackered turbo

 

the car still seems to boost fine however the aftermarket gauge is quite inconsistent now

one min its boosting to like 10psi the next 6psi

If the gauge is hap-hazard then a boost leak is certainly a possibility.

this is probably gona sound dumb to you guys but how do you do a boost leak test :confused:
