Have been toying with the idea of a wide arch kit, but also like the look of rolled arches.....mmmm like both n cant decide.

Need to make a decision pretty quick one way or the other as my new wheels dont fit under the arches and they keep catching on the tyres over harsh bumps :headvswal

Could someone plz put some pics up n give any help in letting me know whats involved in doing either way. If i go the wide kit what hidden extras would need to be bought to complete the job?, i know the filler cap and fuel pipe has to be moved but is there a kit i can get to do this????.

Help pleeeaaaseee........

Thanks

just roll them now, won't cost you much. Then you can always add the wide arch kit at a later date

I for one would never butcher my rear arches with a fibreglass kit.... Subtle rolling on the rear arches will produce a great effect, check out James300/Uno's pictures.

Roll the arches, drop the thing on its haunches and fit a set of these...

Have got a set of 19" axis deepdish already :hyper: :hyper: they just stick out too far and scrape on arches whenever i go over a bump in the road :headvswal

for thoses of you who have done either a rolled arch or a wide arch what is the cost/time to do have either of these done.

Rolled arch is a relatively simple procedure.

Parts cost - £0

Labour cost - £50-£200 (depends if any paint gets damaged in the process)

Widearch involves cutting away original arch, fix on new arches, blending, smoothing and complete respray. It does ofcourse have a far more dramtic affect on looks though.

Parts cost - £500-£1500

Labour cost - £2000-£5000

You will also need wider wheel spacers (usually about 30mm) as even although your current wheels are too wide now, they will be too narrow with widearch kit on.

You would ideally require a set of adjustble coilovers with the widearch kit, as the widearch tends to leave a larger arch gap than standard.

Eh? £2K at most I'd say + wheel hub spacers (£250?) + your choice of wheels.

Transforms the car from your average sports car to something resembling a supercar IMHO

My car never got this many looks until I went wiiiiiide :D

Just have a look at the rear arches on a merc , most of these are rolled from the factory .

As a rough guide to how wide it will be, here are a few pics of my old Zed before, and after a wide botty conversion ! :D No paint as yet, but soon !!
