dont know if i can describe this properly, over the lst couple of weeks, only occasionally when i hit the brake pedal there is a slight grinding noise and the pedal seems to pull itself in towards the floor, now tonight the anti lock dash light has come on, any ideas whats wrong, thanks in advance

First thing to do is get the brake pads checked out..... the slight grinding could be an indication they are worn...

sounds like pads are worn if your getting grinding, have you checked the condition of them?. Are you sure its the ABS warning light and not just the brake warning light which comes on when the pads are low?

its the orange light on the rhs that says anti lock, i will get the pads checked tomorrow, but what would make the pedel pull itself in like that

Also the brake light might have come on for Low fluid level.. which could mean worn pads or worse a fluid leak ( which might account for pedal going towards the floor )

Check the brake pad wear first.

Sounds like a leak if the brake pedal looses pressure, when fixed don't forget to bleed through not forgetting the abs unit in the boot. Also watch out as brake fluid is very corrosive.

Oh and I have a set of braded brake pipes here if you want to buy some?
