Having recently taken my Car to a Japanese 300zx specialist in Cardiff, it seems to have developed some interesting characteristics.

Start her this evening as the battery is dead (was off to halfrauds to get a new one) and there was a good awful ticking noise from behind the glove box. Took it off to have a look a could see that a piece of metal appears to be trying to move and some sort of box it was attached to.

Any ideas what this is and how I can stop the incescent ticking?

I think I'll be going further afield for anything on this car from now on.

Regards

Paul

That's just it, I can't see it properly to tell. But it tried to move and appears to jammed. Apologies for the vague-ness. I've no idea what the component is or what it's used for, but it sounds bloody awful. It's effectively a box on the far left behind the glove box.

Afraid not.

stuck Blower maybe (from the ac/heater) ?

I don't think so, as the AC and heating work fine and via all of the control options, (feet, feet, face, windscreen etc...) Tis really weird. It's almost like something is trying to open but can't. I think the battery option is going to be my only option.

it's a Grenade!! DUCK!!!!!

a grenade ducK, sounds interesting..........

sounds like a weapon on WORMS :D

Turn out that this is one of the heater transistors for allowing outside air into the car to stop it steaming up. Disconnected this and all is well. Placed a new battery on the car bu this doesn't help the ticking noise when I reconnect it. Oh, well, wasn't planning on using the car in the wet anyway.
