Some random useful points that may help:

Number all your electrical plugs so you get them back in the right places. The Zed has more electrics than heathrow. You'll probably crack several of them whilst doing it as a few are hard to get to. The biggest problem is losing clips down the gaps in the plenum so be very careful of this.

Leave the plenum on as its got lots of little hoses that will break. If you do want to remove it its worth doing the plenum bypass whilst you have the engine out as you can see where all the hoses come and go from.

Plug up your turbo out/intake pipes with rags so you don't drop bolts into them whilst removing the engine (one is in the perfect place for it!)

Don't forget to unplug the oil pressure connector on the bottom of the engine before lifting it. Its easy to forget after spending hours on the top ones.

Its quite hard to get the turbos round the steering linkage when removing the engine. Needs a bit of creative lifting and twisting.

Its VERY worthwhile replacing all the hoses that you can't normally get to whilst the engine is out. Chances are that you wil get leaks on the old one due to disturbing them. There are only a couple of odd shapes ones that you will need to buy OEM. The rest can be replaced with standard size hoses from motor-factors. Main ones are the turbo coolant hoses on particularly the battery side, one towards the top just below the plenum, and all the little plenum ones.

Do any other jobs you've thought about doing at the same time. e.g. Pcv valves etc.

It takes quite a while to get the engine out of a zed first time, probably a morning so start early :-) I got it down to a couple of hours with all the nightmares I had on my first Zed! If you can its worthwhile being able to have it out at a weekend and then spend the week buying all the new hoses and stuff before returning it the next weekend. That way you don't feel rushed to get it in without replacing the dodgy hoses that you'll almost definately need to do.

One more thing: are you pulling the engine due to knackered turbo seals? Make sure you do a compression test first. I thought I had knackered turbo seals so pulled the engine and put new seals in. After getting the engine back it was still doing the same smoking, turned out to be two or three smashed pistons :-( so it had to come out again. Real novice mistake by me that, I let myself off as I am a novice!

I will be posting up an engine lifter and an engine stand in the for sale section soon.

Sounds like you've got big job ahead of you mate. Take it you got home alright on Sunday though. I didn't see you parked up at the side of the road anyway lol and believe me... I was looking!!!

Anyway good meeting you mate and I hope it goes smoothly getting the tubs sorted

Cheers

Glad to see you got home OK.

I've got a couple of axle stands and a trolley jack you can't borrow. Best I go and buy a 240 I suppose.
