what pads do most people recommend to go on the fronts of a zed? had EBC redstuffs on previous cars and been pretty happy with them. the discs are grooved aftermarket. Dont want to spend the earth but want something that is reliable and safe for non-track use.

hawks bud every time, there good in both wet and dry with no faid and minimal dust, i was running potterfields and they just got chewed with a shed load of dust, EBC's are good for track but need warming and tend to faid. hth

Thanks for the input guys.

It is StopTech (who i think are a part of Brembo) discs and pads that i have on there at the moment and i am pretty happy with them but the front pads have worn to the indicators after about 8-9k miles. Is that a decent lifetime? that havent been thrashed or tracked???

The guy who had the car before me bought the stoptechs from the USA. Can they be bought for a reasonable price in the UK?

If i cant find cheap Stoptechs in the UK. I think i will end up going for the Hawks. Is HPS the type to go for? where is the cheapest place to buy them?

Finally, I think i will do a brake fluid change at the same time as replacing the pads. Is superdot 4 the stuff to use? and is there a sequence in which to bleed each caliper?

hhhmmmmm...... interesting. Think Hawks still sound good for me. Best place to buy???

What about the sequence to bleed brake fluid through calipers and which brake fluid to use?

or if you use the brakes :D

or if you use the brakes :D

indeed handbrake is my middle name :D

what about the Axxis Metal Matrix? i was told they are very good on stock discs

axxis metal matrix? never heard of them, you got any links bud?

Having been driving the 350 for nearly 2 weeks now I have had the opportunity to throughly abuse the brakes and they have never faded at all. The standard pads are Ferodo. (Hope Karen doesn't read this !)

you can hawk pads from the following

paul@ swz on here

smithy i think stocks them

ztech in wiltshire

bleeding sequance is furthest away from master cylinder

so you do NS rear (abs not nec) but make sure battery is dissconected OS rear NS front OS front

you can use a dot 4 or dot 5.1 i use castrol race spec fluid 5.1 synthetic

Nope, fronts are furthest away so do them first - brake lines run from MC to ABS unit in the boot THEN to the calipers, so the fronts have the longest lines ;)

I didn't say bleed the ABS :p I said the front calipers are the furthest away from the BMC - the lines run from the BMC to the ABS unit then to the front calipers. The rears run from the BMC to the ABS unit then straight down to the calipers. So the front caliper lines are the longest...
