sorry to hear that bud ....

but low oil presser and blue smoke are not good ....

wozza ...

...

do you think turbo's?????

dont understand tho coz the boost gauge shows that there's boost the needle moves right over!!! if the turbo's had gone would it not show any boost? if the seals on the turbo's had failed would this not cause blue smoke? and a drop in oil pressure? its my own fault buying the f**cking car in the first place!!! but now ive got it i want to get it right coz otherwise it'll be another 2 years before i get round to buying another one!

If the standard gauge is moving all the way over, its been running too much boost probably...check for boost jets in the vac lines (do a search here for boost jets).

Could be why the tubs are kanckered (and maybe why it crashed :x: )

Thats the risk you take buying a cheap one! Sorry I am in a mood as nobody seems to want to buy my one and its great!)

how much is yours!!

i want to buy it but 3 kids dictates

I had this when I picked mine up... Turned out to be down to the sensors. The garage mechanic who took a look at it said that blown turbo's kick out WHITE smoke, and LOTS of it. Good luck matey!

jesus i hope so mate!!! made me feel a little better any how

sorry im back...what sensors, where can i find them and do i replace them or clean them ect?

Has the car been de-catted? this can cause the blue smoke as oil is getting past the seals if they have gone. You can also get smoke if the PCV valves are clogged up or need replacing.

The whistle from the Turbo(s) im assuming its just 1 of them? can be if you have a leak or gasket gone on the exhaust manifold where it bolts too the inlet side of the turbo or the outlet side of the turbo where the pre cats bolt to the rear of the turbo, check to see if all flanges are tight. It could just be a split in one of the boost pipes.

I would say if the car has been de-catted that is more likely why its smoking as the seals would of gone, in which case you will need the engine out and replace turbo's.

The sensors mentioned a proberbly the o2 sensers which you will find going into the pre cat and can be seen if you look down the back of the engine at the exhaust.

The stock oil gauge is rubbish and not very reliable so not allways best to take the reading as gospel

check as much as i can now thanks mate

my mechanic told me that blue smoke is oil that has been burnt in the cylinders,

grey smoke is oil that has been heated up in ther exhaust i.e turbo end seals!!

does yours smoke on overrun, i had this it was sticking piston rings, overrun is where you take your foot off down hill, then when you accelarate again you get a big puff of blue smoke!!

Grey smoke?? hmm Not sure about that, a lot of people confuse white smoke which is water (steam) as grey smoke coming out the exhaust especially when the engine is cold and condensation in the exhaust is being burnt off, which is normal i guess if oil is being burnt (blue smoke) and it mixes with the white condensation it could look grey, if white smoke is still present when the engine is hot then it would mean there is a more serious problem, weak or blown head gasket, especially if there is a loss of coolant and power. The exhaust gets extreamly hot around the turbos so any oil entering the exhaust in that area will burn off blue.

andy duff is coming up to mine on tuesday so hopefully things will be soughted then or at least know more about the probs im having.

thanks everyone for your help.
