hi right i have found a split in the large pipe that goes to the plenum on the drivers side it goes from the end of the pipe and stops somewhere under the jubilee clip now it does extend past the connection point however in your opinion could this still cause a boost leak????

Featured Replies

sorry it doesnt extend past the connection point just to the jubilee clip. please answer as you all seem to be looking and not giving me an answer! this was the first place i looked at and if i have found the leak straight away i will be a very lucky man lol

Doubt it bud!-is the car running rough?

no but the needle on the boost gauge is just under the first white line (between the -7 line and the first white lin) been told this could be due to a boost leak??

my last zed was right back on the -7 line!

what do you think?

I think you should check it with an aftermarket guage bud,the oe ones are useless!!-go from there! ;)

ok mate thanks

Can you here a whistling noise when you kick the car, if so you have a boost leak. The boost on mine is slightly low, since I fitted my aftermarket gauge it does correspond to the standard gauge, my car boosts to just above 5 psi and I can hear a whistle when its kicked.

Cheers John

not been able to take it out properly as it has no mot tax and needs a vim check i will take it up the road later thanks. by the way was that suppose to say it doesnt correspond to the standard gauge??

also when i reversed it into my path this morning it seemed like it was reving high before it moved it was up alittle bit of a ramp but im starting to worry about the car now!!

Sounds like your in safety boost, have you done an ECU test ?

yer i get 55. so thats ok

but i think my turbo's have gone!!!!!! there's whistling when i kick down with blue smoke coming out of the back and very low oil pressure, first time i have actually tried to put my foot down as i bought it damaged. The oil needs changing desperatley so i plan to do that first then go from there, with the info ive given you what do you think??? i am going to start a thread in a min about this so if you wish you can answer me on that. cheers

so what you are saying is you got no power then??? like its been said, the stock boost gauge not very acurate, get a decent one when you can, does the car actually run ok, do you have any suspicious noises from anywhere ??? if the oil is shite, definately change that for a start. what oil pressure are you getting?? again the gauges not very good, and the pressure falls of at idle. thats normal on a stock gauge. also the car will idle higher when it is cold. Id do abit of a service before you stert ripping tubs out
