Gauges???

What gauges do I really need on my dash?

What does the needle that swings +7 to -7 actually mean? I noticed one that read +14 to -14!

The oil one as well??

Featured Replies

+-7 refers to -700 +700 millimeters of mercury (mm/hg) this is used to measure pressure/vacuum. this is used in Jap dashboards.

-14 +14 refers to PSI, again pressure/vacuum measurement. This is used in UK dashboards.

My oil guage reads in PSI (UK car) I think Jap cars are measured in KG/mm.

Hope this helps.

Robert.

I only use the brakes so I can accelerate all over again.

Yeah, I got a Jap import and that sounds right.

Do you actually need these gauges, Its just I saw a nice dash, but it never had the pressure/vacuum thing. It suggested a new 'pressure/vacuum gauge' because stock ones were crap. I've been looking on various sites, but since I didn't know what I was looking for, so it was pointless!!

ya gonna need new gauges(standard are crap!!)

ive just bought some autometer gauges at a decent price have a look at my post.jay

I'm gonna put on double side pods. The drivers side is going have the pressure/vacuum guage and a clock.

Now I like symmetrical things, what do I put on the other side? I thought a clock and ????

What is the best pressure/vacuum guage maker? and any suggestions for the other pod?

I thought Z/NISMO badge or a tiny speedo (if poss)!!!
