This might sound like a really daft question, but since im new to this, you'll need to excuse me!

I started up the zed this morning and as i was driving to work, the HICAS alert appeared.

Can anyone let me into what it is?

I get a bit worried about alerts that appear and i dinnae ken what they are!

Oh no the dreaded HICAS light, you going to have to sell the car!

..............or you could just top up the power steering fluid!

hicas is the rear wheel steering mate, like above probably low fluid level, top it up and see.

as above top it up with dexron 3 and it'll be fine it should be pink in colour

Im curious, how many people actually use the HICAS compared to those who have disabled it?

I have all the rare bits you can't find :tongue:

mine still in working order, but then i dont have huge hp. not sure of the benifits of disabling it, though would be interested to hear though

i for one find hicas a little strange at high speeds it feels like you have lost control of the back end for a split second, i got used to it after a while but at first it scared the sh*t out of me. alot of people say that when it is removed the handling isnt affected i have never removed the hicas on any of my last zeds so i wouldnt know. but if the full system is removed you can lose a fair deal of wait. there are several links on here some where showing how its done.

sorry lol wieght!!

I had the light coming on, Did all the checks I could, Rear tyre wear was extreamly bizzar, the rear tyres would wear out only 1" of the inside tread, I have caster correction devices fitted (so it wasnt the caster) decided to remove the Hicas rack and fit an eliminator bar, havnt seen the Hicas light come on since removing the Hicas, rear tyre wear has now bocome sensible. HTH

nah dexron 3 is available anywhere really a litre should'nt cost anymore than a fiver
