Has anyone ever had it? If so, what did you take to sooth the pain, im in agony, i cant swallow, cant yawn, and i cant get a doctors appointment till thursday. :(

Mate gargle with Jack Daniels or something like that

Get an emergency appointment ffs and get some anti-botics. If they swell up too much, it'll stop you eating/drinking. Soft scoop Vanilla ice cream seemed to relax mine.

 

I had a really nasty strain of it earlier in the year. Only the 2nd or 3rd time I've ever had it, but that is by far the worst I've ever been.

 

My tonsils were so swollen, that one of them was touching my uvula!! My tongue also turned a pale shade of white.

 

Not to meantion the nausia, migrane + aches and pains!

 

See below for nasty photos of the dreadful state of my tonsils. What you can't see is that the white ulcerations on the tonsils actually go down into my gullet!!!!

 

Go to bed shivering wearing clothes and the heating on flat out, woke up at 2am in an absolute pool of sweat! One night, I was in so much discomfort, that I had to go to the local motorway service station at 3am to get yet another packet of neurofen!!

 

 

 

I used to have it so severe I had to have them out when I was 8

Good news, i dont have tonsilitis,

 

Bad news, ive got glandula fever, ive got to stay in bed for 2weeks and cant have any contact with anyone. It takes 6 weeks to clear up, hopefully ill be alright for the z parade at silverstone.

lots of milk shakes from mc'y Ds, does the job for me. i get tonsilitus about twice a year
