Went for a spin today, first time in a few weeks.

booted it on A30 and immediately lost a couple of cylinders ( went all lumpy and cat light came on, unburnt fuel). limped home about 10 miles.

Would this be ptu, connectors or?

any suggestions to try out or check whats gone wrong!

Mmmmmmm, HG possibly. PTU tends to knock the car out completely. Could be a coil-pack, but you say you've lost 2 cylinders....could be the HG. :(

Get a compression test done on it....but also take off and clean up all connectors.

Thanks for that. Dont think its Head gasket, or at least hope not. no steam or loss of fluid, temp OK. seems electrical.

Well it seemed like more, but could be just one cylinder. managed to limp home at about 45ish to keep cay light off.

How do I clean connectors? where are they?

Never been done before, had car for over 5 years, so maybe do need cleaning?

You'll not get steam or loss of fluids if it's gone between pots...and if you've knocked out 2 pots at the same time, that's what it could be....you'll just get neat fuel going through them which could be why your cat overheat warning lights are on?

All the injector connectors and coil pack connectors. Just make a start on those perhaps.
