Hey guys,

I have a 1996 JDM N reg Silver Manual with 80,000kmh on the clock in good condition and running well, only mod is an air filter and alarm system. Engine Oil changed every 3 months, all the usual servicing has been done in the last three months - i.e. sparks plugs, fuel filter, gearbox and diff oils, all known issuses have been sorted and the cars been fully wax oiled and underseal applied and the timing belt has changed at christmas. Records and Receipts for absolutely everything.

Was thinking of selling to help fund another project,

My question really how much would i be expecting for it in the current climate pricewise?

Any comments would be great, cheers

i would say you should be able to push for 4-5k. depends how much you want to get rid of it. is it a shortie? leather interior? difficult to say without seeing the car in the flesh.

Its a lwb, cloth interior but its got the recaro bucket seat option on it - in no rush to sell it, but seems a waste because most of the time it just sits there on the drive under a cover lol, it deserves to be used more often! About 4-5K you reckon? thats along the lines i was hoping for!

Cheers

i assume its a tt by looking at the front bumper?

if so and it is in exceptionally good nick id put her up for 6k if your not in a hurry... an unmolested late spec car with them factory wheels?.. and the recaros would command that sort of money tbh.

though for a definate, probably fairly easy sale, 5k would be a bargain for its new owner :)

Lol, yeh its a TT, can't believe i left that out! I've replaced anything that looked worn out on it like for like and new tyres all round aswell, done maybe 600-800 miles in it in total.

I should be able to sell fairly quick then thats great, 5k i would be more than happy with.

Cheers

depends on your luck, no-one seems to be interested in my car and i thought it was one of the good ones out there :(

you have to bare in mind though cheema, with the utmost respect :) yours is a 93 tt auto... his is a manual, 96 series 4 version s with recaro interior and virtually unmodified... find another of that spec in the uk for that price!

if i was still in the market for 1 id prolly be knocking on his door :)

would it be a good idea to put the orginal air filter box back on?

Sounds like a nice car.

Do you know if the cambelt service has been done - it should be every 60,000 miles or five years, whichever's sooner.

i dont think many people would be put off by that tbh... i would think that most people would prolly look to put one on themselves. its when you start putting on bodykits and more demanding engine mods that it becomes increasingly taste/requirement specific. if your selling it with the original airbox at least the new owner gets the option :)

Yes thecambelt was done as soon as i brought the car - 80k is about 60k miles so it was due but i like to change the belts anyway just for the peace of mind ;)
