I'd change the PCV valves first as it may well be them.

Only about £8 for a pair from MJP in the traders section on here.

The PCV pipes could be clogged up with oil too so they either need cleaning out or replacing if they're old and perished.

hi chris (chrisbond65) and to chrisc loll, well i have the same problem but mine smoke more from the driver side, when starting from cold theres nothing but once it warms up or im stationary at a set of lights the driver side smokes a little, cant tell what colour it is tho, i was going to do a post on this as well but you beat me to it loll, hope some ones got an answer for us. neways good luck.

They have, I just told you :D

90% chance it's the PCV's costing £8

10% chance it's the turbo's at £1000 to £2000 to remove engine and repair or replace.

Up to you which you want to try first ;)

Got the exact same problem on the drivers side. are the seals a tricky job to replace? Guess what i'm really asking is if it's a d.i.y job presuming you can get access to a lift?

i have ordered the pcv valves and hope they do the trick but is it possible to remove the turbos without engine out?

I changed the oil tonight for 10/30 semi and it seems to be alot better but ive got this vision of my engine on my drive in peices and i cannot sleep so just in case can it be done

Thanks Chris

pcv valves can be taken out and cleaned in petrol, normally all thats needed.

another thought have the cars mentioned been de catted at all? This can cause the seals to blow and smoke.

it is possible to remove passenger side turbo (right hand drive cars)but it is a real pita of a job, driver side no way. far easier and quicker in the long run.

Hi cheers for the advice mine has been de catted about two months ago the origional cats were rotten

The car has not smoked at all today ive tried to make it by letting it tick over for a while im keeping my thingers crossed the oil change did the trick the car had 0/40 oil in it and ive changed to 10/30 semi

hi carl do you have pics of where the valves are located as i think mine could do with a clean tnx.

also i had a starting problem on car and as i kept cranking it for weeks to solve the problem, the chambers where flooded and petty leakd into the oil, the oil was smelling of it and had no lub left it was more like water, car was smokin loads at this point, then someone in forum told me to change oil which i did to 10/40 2gether with oil filter new plugs car dosnt smoke as much now well truth fully the more i drive it the less its smoking but when i floor it and stop then it smokes which i think its pvc valvs blocked. any suggestions?? tnx

Good luck , but 10/30 is thinner than 0/40. Try some 10/60 mate.
