Hey guys, just have another question.... I used to be the owner of a 200sx S13...the turbo model.....when the 200 warmed up you got lots of funky ''pops and bangs'' from the exhaust and when letting of from hard acceleration, sometimes you got the odd flame. Now this sounded extremely ''cool'' and i was wondering if the Z's do it too? As of yet i have only noticed the occasional ''pop.''

I read on the 200 forums you get these noises from BOV's and de-cat pipes?

Thanks

Ethan

I've got an induction kit, full straight through exhaust and twin dump valves, and i only get pops and bangs very very rarely when its really warmed up

When I had the AEM EMS fitted I was getting constant flames between gears & on overrun. When I had stock ECU I very rarely had them & nothing like the ones I got from the AEM, these would light up the entire road behind me at night.

GREAT I cant wait to see mine then with my Alunox straight through exhaust. :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

If u want flames try an RX-7, mine blows out huge flames at high rpm gear changes. Like said, the whole road behind goes orange at night!

i had flames when hit the rev limiter at 8ooo rpm on the rolling road!

trouble was i was sat on edge of boot trying to help get traction! i nearly set alight to my jean!

all you need on a 200sx is a decat, dumpvalve and off you flame :D its just the way the car is setup as far as im aware, running no recirc or fitting a dumpvalve produces unburnt fuel to the exhaust. And if the catalyst is not there it will pop bang flame etc

not good to run a dumpvalve with a catalyst still on the exhaust as it will kill the insides of it.

Good good, im getting a set of DV's and de-catted within a week or two, so let the popping begin, once you pop, you cant stop :D lol

dear sir i must call you MR pringle

mine lets off loud bangs sometimes when im not even caning it, just low rev gear changes will let off a loud bang every so often, exhaust has to be warm though, and its a 3" system from the turbo back :D i have an agressivly tuned chip to fit so cant wait to see what happens then :D

when the temp sensor wiring was falling apart, mine did that too. I suppose that boost leak will make it overfuel too.

Fit an Auto ECU to a manual car as it still add fuel to the car when changing gear, mine popped when i did this. dont know if it flamed though as the engine blew up before i noticed (not related to ecu change though).
