I'm always a bit nervous of trying anything new like that. Also, whilst I broadly support Google in that they are a tiny bit of competition for Micro$haft, they are FAR too busy trying to collect information about you and add it to their profile of you. Remember their mission statement is something like "To index the world" - that includes you and everything they can find out about, or associate with you. Just look at the targeted advertising in the free Gmail accounts.

All of my web applications are paypal integrated, was thinking of moving to google checkout at some point but means changing all the checkout scripts and quite frankly...

I used it when I bought my SatNav - no problems at all with it :D :D

My mate at work uses it A LOT £10 off every time he spends over £30 he aint had no probs yet !

explain what it is as im banned off paypal and could do with another way of paying over the net, is it the same type of thing as paypal?

It gives you a list when you sign up of all the places where you can use it

It's as safe as buying from the shop these days. I buy off the net nearly every day and I haven't had a problem yet. This Google checkout is a tenner for nothing, no catches nowt. Great deal IMO.

How did you get banned from PayPal, can't you rejoin with a different email or something like that ?

 

Anyway, yes, Google Checkout is more or less the same thing as PayPal.

 

There are some alternatives, such as NoChex, but PayPal is the market leader and Google obviously wants a slice of the action.

i had an ebay account that my ex was using he sold goods and never sent them, then we split up i moved back to my folks no internet connection so account got closed and i was banned
