Hi, thinking of some 2 fast 2 cool de cats inc elbows. Question is, my car, a '92 TT shorty, has a few plugs and things in the original exhaust pipes just about in line with the gearbox (manual).

Do these need to be fitted or can I just junk them all, or some of them?

Thanks,

Sounds like your cat sensors bud if so yes just disconnect them , i cut the wires back on mine or you can tie them up so there not hanging . :hyper:

With a shorty you have to gently work a corner of the floorpan as it touches the decats. Only slightly though. :)

are these not heated o2 sensors, i had to get new one's because i thought the were needed, are they?

The sensors in the turbo manifold are O2/lambda sensors and need to be there.

The ones in the Cats are temp sensors and can be junked.

The ones in the downpipes are heated o2 sensors yes. The whole reason for me fitting the 2fast2cool decats was that my old o2 sensors were seized to my old downpipes.

The ones in the cats are Cat Overheat Sensors, so you can tie them out the way when you remove the cats.

I welded new O2 bosses a bit further down the decats so you can actually get to them when under the car instead of struggling like crazy to get at them through the engine bay.

Thanks, so am I right in thinking that any sensor in the pipes that the 2fast elboes/decats replace can be junked?

But not anything in the manifold itself?
