Possibly !

Just been speaking with Jeff at Zedworld tonight and he's told me about a SWB TT Manual in Black on a H reg that has been nicked from there early hours of this morning.

I say possibly a fellow Zedder being involved is because of the knowledge the culprits had of Zeds and their workings in general.

For reasons i can't mention, this SWB was boxed in with other cars and it was disabled by Jeff personally as well as fitting a sterring lock.

The culprits gained access to the blocker cars BUT removed a particular part from one in order to fit to the SWB in order to start it and then drive it away.

Your average car thief am sure wouldn't know what parts were missing and how to locate others etc, so am certain this person knows his Zeds, if he/she does then theres a possiblity they are known on here which to me IMO is an attck of sorts to our 300zx community

If anyone hears of any gossip/info or the whereabouts of this SWB TT Manual H reg, I'd be grateful if you either let Zedworld know, ( click link for details) http://www.zedworld.co.uk/wizzk.html or contact myself to pass on the info. This of course can be in the strictest confidence.

Am sure a reward of sorts would be in order if any info supplied leads to an arrest or return of car.

Needless to say the owner is rather upset as these babies are a bit rare out there.

Oh and the day before a new product was fitted on the car which can only be used on SWB's, if your offered something new and previously fitted to a SWB, let me know as it may help, again I'll hold of saying what it is for now.

thanks in advance for any help folks :)

It does sound like someone who really knows their Z's.

Just hope it isn't anyone off here who took it or they will get some serious grief!

Mate can you post some pics of what we are looking out for.

So far I know of about 100 different cars.

Would be much easier if we knew what we where watching out for.

SWB TT Manual in Black on a H reg

Just to let everyone know that, as the owner of the black zed that was nicked, I have recently been told by the police that the car has been found! At the moment I don't know what sort of condition it's in (apart from that it probably isn't burnt out or otherwise written off). I won't be able to find out what state it's in until Tuesday, due to the place it's been taken to being closed over the Bank Holiday. Needless to say, I was rather pleased to hear that it's been found.

A big thanks to everyone on the forum for their posts and staying vigilant for my zed - I really do appreciate all the comments I have read. Cheers to Smithy as well bringing the incident to everyone's attention, and to Jeff at Zedworld for his constant hard work on mine and other owners' cars.

I will keep you updated when I know more, and hopefully the police should have some evidence to nail whoever stole it. Thanks again to all.

Excellent news ! Glad to hear, and welcome to the club.

Let us know if there is any way we can help in regards to missing parts or advice.

As you say they're closed over the weekend, It would be interesting to know where it was found as well once it's retrieved.

We can then avoid any garage or business that's appears to be happy to 'Fence' stolen motors or rip bits off them for they're customers needs ???!!

i hope that all the thieves had time to do was move the car and that she has not been overly tampered with.

keeping everything crossed for you :)

hope all is well Biff. let us know mate if they have a lead on the theiving slimey scum sucking snot drinking, fart breathing, conts

Great news. Hope it's untouched for you. Years ago my brother was carjacked and his 280ZX was later found 400 miles away intact, so you never know.

:) Excellent news that it's been found. Hope it's all still intact and the best

yes. its very very good news its been found & hopefully complete with no damage. however this brings another thing to mind. what happens if the scumbags are never found out & caught ?. as already mentioned, they (COULD) be a member of this community !!!!. i think you can see what im getting at.

Thanks once again for all your best wishes (and the heartfelt offers of death and dismemberment to the perpetrators!) :smash:

I will probably not find out what sort of state the car's in until Tuesday, but will keep you all posted about this and any other developments.

P.S. Thanks for the warm welcome (even though this is only my second post and, strictly speaking, I don't have a 300zx at the moment!)

Cheers,

Biff (not the one who accosted Marty McFly, I should add)

good news mate i had my friend keeping an eye out on the ferry port at heysham

glad you will get it back hope its ok and the light fingered pond life scum that took it die a slow lingering excrutiatingly painful death .........

Been away for the weekend just got home and read this, was shocked to read about your car, i know how you must of felt as had my first zed stollen from outside my home such a heart sinking feeling, mine was also found but only because they had smashed it up into another car, total write off, i hope your car hasnt suffered the same fate. Even if it hadnt been totalled and before i got it back i didnt know if i wanted it back after someone had stollen it i felt violated. Anyway not to dwell on the black side i'm glad to hear the car been found. It pays to be a member of the club or any car club that way members all over the country get to know your car and what better way to find a car than to have eyes and ears all over the country. Welcome to the club too bud.

Whoever did it deserves a good kicking and then some. I drive a SWB Manual TT and live 10 miles from Zedworld in Sutton Coldfield. I know of 3 other zedders i see from time to time. I will keep my ear to the ground.

Any news on the car? Glad its been found and hope its not damaged

I've been to see the car today. Thankfully it's still in one piece. The visible damage to the bodywork, as far as I can tell, is (relatively) minor. The steering column and ignition has obviously been damaged, and from the look of the rear tyres it seems that they've had some fun with the car : I'm pretty certain that burnouts / doughnuts or drifting have been the order of the day. Having seen the state of the car, and with the limited information I have about its movements after it was stolen, I would say almost certainly that it was taken by so-called 'joyriders' rather than someone with any particular knowledge of the car who wanted it for parts or to sell it.

Fortunately they abandoned the car after getting a flat tyre, otherwise who knows what might have happened to it (I shouldn't think they have thought twice about turning it into a burnt out shell if they'd managed to get it to a quiet area). Obviously it will need a very good inspection of much of its internal workings to check what damage has been caused to the clutch, engine, gearbox, suspension etc., but it was still great to see the car.

I hope this will put some minds at rest about there being a 300zx specialist preying on the cars. Initially I thought this was the case, but the instant I saw the car (especially the tyres  ) I changed my mind about the motive.

Thanks once again for all the posts: I appreciate the warm welcome (under not-ideal circumstances). Any advice on possible damage to look out for as a result of the car being ragged by joyriders would be warmly received.

Really good to see mate :hyper:

Am sure Jeff will check it all over as much as possible for you ;)

cheers

smithy

glad to hear its in one piece, knowing that probably 95% of the time joyriders torch them to destroy any evidence. sounds like it will be sorted pretty quick but get it checked out.
