I've just had broadband installed at home and instead of guessing how much i need and buying phone cable to re route the phone socket for the broadband i was wondering if i could use network cable instead. as i have a mahoosive real of it.

also how easy is it to terminate the ends, made a fair few RJ45 cables but never a phone one. would need male on one end and female on the other.

Running phone over network cable, eg cat3/5 would be fine.

Can't remember the pin-outs, but you'll be able to work it out.

yep will be fine, if i remeber correct phone is cat3 and network it cat 5

phone extension was so cheap i just bought a kit from B&Q. will be off this pooie laptop tomorrow and back on with my pc, yay.

Why not just put in a couple of boxes with the next work cable in between, then plug the network cable supplied with the router into one end and then another one into the other end that connects to your computer, the signal will loose less strength doing it that way. if that makes sence to you.
