Hi all, ive just been to look at a K reg 2+2 N/A auto zed for sale, been standing a while now. She fired up second time, but was misfiring a lot. Took her round the block and the misfiring stopped but the engine would not idle smoothly, almost dying then kicking in. I was told this was not serious due to the air flow sensor needing replacing. Apart from that she seems sweet. Could this be a major prob? If not i may be joining the club!

does the car rev past 2500 rpm ? If it does its not the MAF, bit could be as simple as a vacumn leak on one of the small hoses !

Was the battery flat? Sometimes when the battery is really flat they will do this...

Thanks for the help, but the seller has fixed it now, though still not quite smooth enough for my liking. Think ill be parting with the best part of 2 1/2 grand soon tho. Should be money well spent, until the missus finds out!
