as above, whats the best set up i can use keeping standard size, i wanted smithys big brake kit but due to the design of my wheels i cant use bigger brakes unless i change the rims which i cant afford at the minute, so what discs with what pads do you lot recommend and where can i get em from? :D need em asap

what set-up did u use?

I have this big brake kit and its definately a worth while upgrade and then if you want to goto R33 calipers afterwards, they just bolt on and you can sell the adaptor :D

i want the big brake kit but cant use it due to the design of me wheels so am havin to use standard size stuff

i have got the full ebc drilled/grooved discs with red stuff pads and they stop me very well indeed from any speed

 

disclaimer: i never ever break the speed limit on the public roads :tongue:

i have smithys big brake kit... Looks really good, pitty its only looking good on the floor of the workshop atm, Grrrr

what set-up did u use?

Mintex 1144 pads and the 3g brembos (slotted) good setup and a vast improvment iff you want to keep the 16" wheels like me :)

Drilled, grooved, dimpled and slotted, just different terminology mate.

Slotted usually a name used by those outside UK, Grooved usually used by those inside UK. :)

I run 17" rims and had problems fitting Smithy's big brake kit because of the design of my wheels. :mad: The spokes caught on the callipers so i just fit some small wheel spacers and hay presto problem solved. :dance:

Don't worry mate, rubble fitted my "big brake kit" thats entirely different to what Znut had, which was standard sized improved discs and pads :)

Hope that explains it fella.
