Hi everyone,

basically want to buy a zx unmodified but then turn it into a supercar...well more so...

i'm looking at the 3.5-4.5 sec 0-60 mark and was wondering if anyone knows what kind of kit i should get. ive seen a few turbo's advertised but nothing in the form of a complete kit ie: turbos, injectors, manifold, intercooler etc...

can anyone help?

To get a 3.5 second 0-60 time you need 400bhp/tonne in a RWD car. so you either have to loose weight or add more power.

If we assume the standard 2+2 = 1590 kgs you would need at least 625 FWBHP Which is well within the reach of many cars on this forum.

Losing weight is usually the cheapest option for mega performance. If you stripped out a 2+2 or started with a shortie slicktop weighing 1300 kgs you would only need 512 BHP to get the magic 400bhp/tonne and the same performance....

That extra 113BHP costs a lot of wonga.... so put your zed on a diet.

Just to give you an idea of what other cars manage 400bhp/tonne

BHP KGS bhp/t 0-60 0-100 60-100 1/4 mle

Mercedes SLR McLaren 626 1618 393.11 3.53 6.82 3.29 11.50

Lamborghini Diablo GT 575 1460 400.16 3.50 7.00 3.50 11.52

Noble M400 425 1060 407.38 3.47 7.74 4.26 11.65

anyone know any tuning packages available for the zx... ie: better turbo's or anything like that. not just exhaust and chipping it
