Hello all,

I am considering a Complete diff swap from a TT 3.69 diff to either a N/a 4.08 diff or even this which i have come across?

Clip from a website: (Here we are replacing the factory R230 viscous coupling 3.7 with R200 R32 GTR 4.3 Nismo mechanical lock clutch pack diff with a modified 300ZX non turbo cradle

(no hicas to worry about!) with alloy spacers for drive shafts and tailshift to suit Nismo diff mounting bushes and urethane cradle bushes. As a bonus the 300ZX diff weighs 52kg whilst the new GTR diff weighs 36 kg.) :)

Link to site with pics : http://www.uniqueautosports.com/race%20car%20pge2.htm

Has anyone else thought of using an R32 Diff? is it much stronger if any than the N/a Diff on a 300zx?

As the Site states you could use a R32 GTR diff with spacers and slight N/A Subframe mods...

Any other info on this would be great if anyone else has done this already!! We all know the Heavy cost of a Richmond Ring and pinion for a TT diff! .

Cheers

I think the easiest solution is to get the richer gears diff, the no tears before bedtime option :)

i quite liked the car in them build up pics with its nice strosek mirros... until they bolted on that abortion of a spoiler!

that r32 diff would be a good mod for drifting?

Thats what i thought (4.3)?? :wack: Shame about the alloy rear cover though! :)

They say the Viscous lsd is not that good?? is this true?

Thats an Aftermarket R32 GTR Clutch Pack LSD.

I would not go for a Clutch Pack LSD for the street. Very noisy when turning. Plus that 4.3 ratio is going to hurt your your motorway comfort and fuel economy.

Its designed for 1/4 mile drag racing.

Your best bet would just be to bolt up a complete NA rear subframe with 4.08 Diff.

Yes, the NA diff is'nt as strong as the TT diff...but that does'nt mean its not plenty strong enough for any power your going to throw at it. Plenty of high powered Z32's in the States and Aus with the NA diff setup.

The NA subframe and Diff is also around 100Ibs(45kg) lighter than the TT setup.

The Stock Viscous LSD is the best setup for the street.

If your after a aftermarket Diff setup for Track racing, then take a look at Quaife.

out of interest how much would you be able to pick up a n/a diff and how long would it take to fit ? (sorry to hijack the thread but its kinda related)

Whole rear subframe swap, drive shafts and hubs, prop shaft, then hicas removal as wont bolt to the N/A (don't quote me on that) and might as well polybush it all and stone chip the underside of the car.

Do you realy need to upset more "fast cars" from the lights.
