Hello,

My TT has let go, oil pressure has gone to zero and has been driven. The cylinders have been compression checked and they are all bad but one

What is usually involved in a engine rebuild ?

Are the bores usually honed or rebored ?

Are new pistons fitted (obviously if the block is rebored).

What about other bits.

Help would be greatly appreciated :)

Cheers,

Lloyd

Why spend thousands on that when you could buy my TT engine.

Its has alloy forged pistons, uprated turbo internals and much much more. Ready to go in the car all for £1k Was rebuilt approx 15,000 miles ago.

Can you describe in detail the spec ?

Why is it being sold ?

Where was it rebuilt ?

i'm in the same boat mate!

For a proper rebuild your looking at £3,000parts and labour + turbos and a sh1t load of other bits. So I would have ripped Rodders arms of if I hadn't already done everything myself already.

From what I can gather from most on here if you give the car to a garage then it will cost more than the car is worth.

Don't run away, come back, sit down and listen.

There are lots of folk on here that can and will help, you might be better off with a replacement engine and the one from Rodders seems a good route to go down but as markzx says you could be looking at a cpouple of Gs, but if you love the car as most of us do, its a good and sound motor and you want to keep it for a long time then a good rebuild will be just as cheap as going out and buying a BMW thats half as fast and a lot less fun.

Stick with it, take it to a Zed specialist (is the Zen garage your way) and see what they say.
