Hello all,

I have a H reg tt uk spec and im thinking of a cam belt change as I dont know when it was changed last.

Can anyone tell me how difficult this is to do? is it an engine out job? and what would the price be at a main dealer?

Also if anyone can tell me what problems you would get, if any, by over filling an auto box as mine has a dodgy reverse when cold and when going through the gears hard it goes from 1-2-4-3-4 would this be due to over filling??

Cheers all!!

we can do a full service including belts for £400.

yes if the box is overfilled it wouldn't help with the gearchange tbh

Main dealer prices for same service is about £1000

Just been under car trying to look for a drain plug on auto box but couldent find one, how do I drain some of the oil out?? cheers!

I did mine myself but you should know your car pretty well before you try it. I would take Paul up on that, it's worth having someone who knows the car and it's a good price.

just had it done , new water pump hoses etc, 715 squid, front of engine off rad off etc

How much oil to fill her up again if I drain the lot?

There isnt always a drain plug for the TT - mine doesnt have one - I siphoned the fluid out of the filler neck using a pump I bought from Demon tweeks.
