Hello, im new to the forum and i could do with a bit of help..

Basicly, im a big nissan lover, ive had two Nissan Almera Gti's and one sunny GTI however i fancy a change, moving away from the sr20de engine all the above make use of..

I was seriously limited by insurance until this month when for some unexpected reason, they would insure me on a 300zx turbo but this where im confused.

Basicly, they will insure me on a nissan '300zx Turbo' but im really getting wound up because all the 300's i see are twin turbo's.. and yes its 1991ish ive been getting quotes on. Are they missing the 'twin' bit out or refuring to a totally different car?

Sorry to sound so dump to you 300 pro's but im blind in the dark here.

Cheers

so do they actually make a single turbo 300zx?

Yes, but it was the Z31 (previous model) not Z32.

ie, this model 300zx.

because the first one went into a mechanic to have an sr20det engine fitted (out of a pulsar gti-r) and it was a lengthy process so i bought another to drive when it was in the garage, as it happens.. the mechanic who i believed to be capable of doing the transplant totally buggered up my car and sold parts off it to help pay for his failing mechanic buisness. 6 months later, it was in his unit which was now reposessed and he was gone in a blink of an eye leaving me with a car that was now written off. So my second almera is being rehomed this week and the deposit is going onto another nissan.

so what do you think insurance means by ''1991 300zx turbo''

Cheers

Means it's a Z32 TT. Some call it the turbo model by vertue of it sounding silly calling it the 'turbos' model. It'll definitely have two turbo chargers.

My car is for sale mate if your interested.

I was in the same boat as you, young trying to insure one. Try swinton, they were the best for me.

get yourself subscribed mate and you'll be able to see the 'cars for sale' forum. couple of nice zeds in there atm. well worth the 20 quid for all the help and advice available. :)

manual or auto? what do i get

manual if you can. if not, get an auto and either wait for the auto box to go bang or just do the manual conversion straight away.
