You get 4 x LED bulb replacements

A replacement relay to ensure the bulbs blink in the right time

And these instructions

Now will i be able to do a straight swap with the relay already in there or will i have to pull a plug from the back/rewire the relay pod etc?

BUMPETY BUMP

Come on guys, every time i post crap you reply.

Every time i ask for help i've never got any answers back.

I've put 3 in and it works fine while the resistance is high on the final bulb, pop the fourth one in and the resistance drops and it starts flashing fast so either i need to replace that relay (which i can't find even after pulling the top half of the dash out) or put a resistor in to compensate across the legs of the bulbholder.

Any ideas?

Let me try and work out what value u need

it appears to me nick the new flasher unit holds the resister values you need and a swap is all it needs, where the swine is i do not know and the instructions are a little confusing iff you ask me

Nick,

Take a look at this diag >> http://300zx.co.uk/cgi-bin/manual.cgi?list=el&dir=&config=&refresh=&direction=forward&scale=0&cycle=off&slide=59&design=default&total=133

Connectors on the relay base are as follows......

B = EARTH, Do Not Use.

LG/B = Output feed to indicators

G/R = 12v +ve feed to relay.

Dave you're a saviour, cheers :D Just found it, needn't have taken the speedo out after all that found it by touch, just have to get the little bugger out.

Cheers for the pinout, and cheers for the help and the entertainment guys :D lol

EDIT: Just tried a couple of things but neither seems to work

You're not using terminal P are you?!! As you don't need it!

Where 'bouts is this flasher unit then Bunny?

(FYI - The new one you've got there is the electronic type which doesn't rely on the resistance of the bulbs so is not affected by LED replacements)

Right here's the story, the relay works, no ticking sound as it's solid state.

Everything works fine but.....

One of the bulb units is faulty by the looks of it, the upper layer of led's seem to flicker and alternate unlike the others :(

Looks like i'll need to replace one. Vinz where did you get them??

Also does that meen the lights won't flash quicker when a bulb goes?

Darrell

All four worked fine Nick as I tried them Bud.Maybe its the curse of "The Badger" Let me know how you get on.Sounds like a bad earth you have to the bulb.

Sorry forgot to put an update up on after i'd fitted them.

Took the pins out of the relay connector and put them in the correct position then plugged the new relay in with no hassle whatsoever.

Left it 24 hours and now everything works fine, no idea why one was flickering. Perhaps like vinz says there was a dodgy earth, either way it works fine now :)

incidentally if anyone else uses the same relay facing the female side of the plug:

A --

B -- C --

Remove B and put A in its place then the new LED relay should plug straight in

It's located above the steering column about 2 inches from the bulkhead and is clipped into place, i ended up snapping the old relay guides off getting it off and the new relay doesn't fit in the same place so you'll need to bind it in place with electrical tape or something similar to stop it hanging or rattling round
