I use to have an OEM spoiler on my tailgate with no brake light. I have since remove the tailgate and installed on with a perspex panel which has a brake light installed. Now ive reconnected the wiring looms which were in my old tailgate but were not used however the brake light in the perspex panel is not illuminating?

Anyone got any ideas?

UK cars don't usually have any wiring to the centre brake light location. When I had mine fitted I had to have a new wire run from the brake light circuit

just connect to the live feed in wire to your brake light bulb holder :)

I'd say that if you have a loom end plug already there, then it's either probably not connected to the main loom (ie; unplugged) or someones fitted a JSpec boot lid at some point!!

Either way as you have a loom end plug and the wire coming from it, then you don't need to run a wire through the boot lid. All you've got to do is find where it comes out at the top end of the lid, and then find the brake wire loom inside the cars body which would be the closest point, and connect it!

This wiring diag might be of some help to you... http://300zx.co.uk/cgi-bin/manual.cgi?list=el&dir=&config=&refresh=&direction=forward&scale=0&cycle=off&slide=57&design=default&total=133
